Melissa Castillo Bustamante
Melissa is graduated from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana Medical School in 2011. Previously, she worked as an analyst and primary care physician in Medellin, Colombia for Clinica Comfenalco, Family Physicians Group and Colsanitas- Keralty USA. On 2014, she started her Otolaryngology training at Hospital Britanico of Buenos Aires, Argentina associated to the Pontificia Universidad Catolica Argentina. During her residency, she received training in tinnitus therapies and Neuro-otology. Also, she was a member of the research assistant committee of Hospital Britanico of Buenos Aires.
On 2018, Melissa became a Neuro-otology physician in Hospital de Clinicas Jose de San Martin associated to the Universidad of Buenos Aires. Currently, she is a post-doctoral fellow at Massachusetts Eye and Ear- Eaton Peabody Laboratories at Aaron Remenschneider’s group. Her work is focused in Otopathology and biomechanics of the middle ear.
Her memberships include: Asociacion Antioquena de Otorrinolaringologia, Federacion Argentina de Sociedades Otorrinolaringologicas, American Academy of Otolaryngology, Schuknecht Otopathology Society, Fundacion Iberoamericana de Neurotologia and Latin American group for studies in Neuro-otology.
Melissa received the Medellin Mayor Award for outstanding undergrad researchers in 2010, Autor Bolivariano award in 2011, Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana Honorable Mention for researcher students, the scholarship of the Pan-american Otolaryngology Association and the Pontificia Universidad Catolica Argentina Mention for Otolaryngology students due to her thesis on Vestibular Migraine.
